IT'S OKAY TO TAKE YOUR TIME

Notice how

nature sings:

"it's okay to take your time."

It doesn't matter how much the world pressures us to accomplish more in less time, when we look to the natural world, we are reminded that there is room to consider a different pace of life, Ronalyn.

Of course, our daily life might look different from a tree, but when we see a deciduous tree changing its color through the seasons, we are reminded just how long each change comes to be.

We may not share the same lifespan as the animals who roam the forests, but when we see them move about, we are reminded that there is room in this world to pace ourselves along the path.

When we turn to the flowers, we are reminded of quiet, yet, beautiful and vibrant growth. We are reminded that growth does not happen all at once, but takes time.

And, when we look up at the stars, we are reminded of just how vast space is, and how small we truly are.

We may not share every single characteristic with every other living thing, but perhaps, the fact that we are all living things is not a coincidence. Maybe, for all of our human advancements, there is still much for us to learn from the world around us. And we don't even have to go far away or move off the grid to be reminded of all there is to learn here.

Maybe, even just taking a reflective moment each day and turning our attention to the bird singing outside of our window, or the tree blowing leaves in our direction can be reminders of this:

"No matter how much I feel rushed by this modern world, I will continue to keep an open heart to the slower rhythms. I will continue to look for lessons in this beautiful sacred world. I don't have to go far away to encounter  new perspectives, I can find them all around me if I just remember to look."

Perhaps, even just for those few moments,  we can remember that it's okay to take our time.

This world is still spinning and life will go on, but in those moments, we can be grateful for the reminder to slow down, and just be.

And maybe, just maybe, we can find a little more peace in our lives as a result.

Word of the Day: Stillness (n) "total lack of movement or changing of position" (Cambridge)
Affirmation: “I am remembering to slow down and look around. I am discovering what it means to simply be, beyond the rush of life.
Journal: What are some things in nature that remind you to slow down? How do they make you feel? Take a few moments now to close your eyes and breathe deeply. Then, when you're ready, open your journal and write about what came to mind.
