THE EXHALE OF RELEASE

May this be one of those weeks where even if it's subtle, letting go can be a powerful act of release. Let "letting go" be about about making space, clearing out what is no longer needed, and making room for the new, however you need to.

In many cases, it can take time to feel like letting go has a good aspect, especially when "letting go" involves a "goodbye" that you may not have been ready for or don’t know how to move on from. In that space, may you know it’s okay to feel deeply about what has changed. And then, with time, in the same way you may eventually take a deep breath after holding it in the tension, you can begin to realize that there is another side of letting go that can begin to feel like release.

So, if you’re in a place where letting go doesn’t yet feel like release in the way that helps let go of tension, may you know that it doesn’t mean you have failed if it takes time. Allow yourself to let go how you can, even in the smallest ways. Even if it’s nothing more than a deep breath. And then, when you do, there’s no need to pressure yourself to try and make sense of it in that exact moment. For even here, you are making room for exhales that are not just isolated from one another but are slowly but surely showing you that even here, you are learning to let go. You are learning to make room for what is new and what a brand new day might teach you.

More tomorrow…
Sincerely,
Morgan Harper Nichols
