RHYTHM AND CONNECTION

At unexpected crossroads, new stories of who you are can begin to emerge.

Crossroads are moments when different possibilities open up. Some come with a sense of choice, like standing at a natural point of change and deciding what comes next. Others arrive without warning, shifting what once felt steady.

Unexpected crossroads can look like…

A role you held, a direction you trusted
A rhythm that shaped your days may no longer fit the way it used to.
A change happens around you, forcing you to adjust in ways you weren’t prepared for.
Something that once felt stable now feels temporary.

These moments at the crossroads can be disorienting and bring feelings of uncertainty, frustration, or even relief all at once. And it’s okay to acknowledge the ways the tension of it all can feel heavy, freeing, confusing, or even hopeful in the same breath.

And at the same time, when there is time and space, it is also okay to acknowledge curiosity, possibility, or even a quiet sense of renewal that might be possible here. For perhaps these crossroad experiences hold something else. When familiar structures fall away, new parts of your story begin to take shape. A version of you that hadn’t fully formed before starts to emerge, even if you don’t yet know what it will become.

This process isn’t always easy because even when change brings possibilities, it can also bring uncertainty, hesitation, or loss. You might find that a shift in direction might leave you feeling wondering where it all leads, because even in situations where some changes bring you relief, that doesn’t always mean they feel simple or easy to carry.

However, what matters is that you remember these tensions don’t cancel each other out. Change can hold both expansion and discomfort, uncertainty, but also, clarity. Flowers can still grow along the edges of what's unknown. Letting go of one story doesn’t always mean the next one is clear right away, but yet still there is still space in between…and in the space between what was and what will be, something real, something new can start taking shape. Something new can still bloom.

Life shifts, and so do you.
Crossroads are not endings.
Letting go makes space for many things…including becoming.

More tomorrow…
Sincerely,
Morgan Harper Nichols
